One of the many episodes I remember during #pelinmunich is this:

Atikah: Aqilah, Is red or purple your favourite colour?

Me: Nope. Why eh?

Atikah: Your shawls and clothes tone are all reddish-purple colour range.

*In head: That’s it! What time is it, Aqilah!? It’s time to get more songket jackets yo!*

Because it was a) a short trip, b) winter – need layers, c) I didn’t want check in baggage and d) My clothes need to complement my shawl, my shawls had to follow the colours of my coats.

Then one day, after the trip, I was reflecting on my songket jackets and realise that all, has dark pinkish / purplish / reddish shade, except one. Even my baby pink/green songket got that shade of red!

Thinking of getting a few more pieces and customising a black songket jacket with another colour combo while I’m at it. Almost immediately my mind went, ‘Black and Purple!’

Well, brain, that’s definitely a no-no.
