Anywho! I was scrolling my instagram timeline and bazinga! someone posts about durian and suddenly I had this craving. So, I told my maid what was on my mind and she told me we had durians in the kitchen! How can anyone let those poor durians freeze in the cold?
Since it was nearing isya, I told her to thaw it and I’ll devour them after praying. But she said, nahhh, they only take a few minutes to defrost. With her the amount of years she spent in the kitchen, she has my trust of course. After isya, she thaw it and whipped my dinner like a storm.
When it comes to Durian Vs Main Course, I always like to have my dessert first.
The minute my fingers reached the Durians, it was like…. patting a rock. Seriously. A cold rock. I just stared at her in disbelief. I told her that this was after 5 minutes. She told me that I shouldn’t be very picky and that it’s already soft and edible to human’s standard.
Ho. Ho. Ho. Lo and Behold.
I told her to touch it and tell me, in my face, that the durian is edible.
She shrugged and touch the durian. Froze for a split second and looked at me. I rolled my eyes, of course, and the we just laugh it off.
Durian lesson 101 guys, durians that are kept in the freezer takes more than 15 minutes to soften.
Unsoften Durians are like Nokia phones…
